Spammers will try anything to get their spam past your filters and into your inbox. It is also a piece of social engineering, to try and entice an unsuspecting user into opening the email.
On opening the email, you can immediately see that the email has nothing to do with the social network mentioned in the subject line, but is instead spam trying to get people to buy pharmaceuticals.
At first glance this looks like image spam (where the “text” is actually part of an image), which is usually an attempt to make it readable by humans but not computers. However, in this case there are no images in the email. If we look at the email with html rendering turned off, the plain text section displays a string of legitimate links to genuine companies (which is most likely an attempt to poison spam filters) followed by nokia screen protector for nokia e75 seemingly random text.
However, if we look at the rendered html again, but this time highlight all the text in the mail, you can see the same, seemingly random, text.
This means that the text isn’t random at all, but is instead intended to disguise the real text of the email, making it much harder to automatically recognize certain words. The use of html tags to change background and font colours allows the spammers to make only the desired characters visible to humans. To a machine, it still appears as simple text in html format, thus making it very difficult for standard filters to spot words. In this case the use of html also makes what appears to be a green cross image.
Spammers can be really creative in their approaches to getting messages through to people. In this case the fact that, aside from a few links, there is no recognizable text in the message automatically makes it suspicious. More advanced techniques, like contrast analysis, can be used to allow a computer to identify that some letters would not be visible to humans, making it possible for the computer to analyze the real message and stop it from reaching any potential victims.

With the iPad, all you need is an index finger that can point and you’re ready to go.
Both the toddler and great-grandmother alike didn’t have to think about using the iPad as a device. Rather, they just interacted with the application at hand.
That being said, the touch-pad keyboard was the worst part of the user experience for my guinea pigs at opposite ends of the age spectrum. Since the toddler didn’t know his ABCs yet, we skipped showing him the keyboard. The great-grandmother (she looks young enough to be just a grandmother) had used a typewriter, but still pecked away at the letters and made several errors in her first attempts.
But there are solutions in sight for these problems. Using on the iPad, I can conduct an Internet search using a voice command. With Dragon Dictation’s amazing free iPad app, I can dictate long notes that can be sent as e-mails or posts to social networks (and it is actually very accurate). Bookmark php Chat Services Take Wait-and-see Approach to Adopting Apple’s FaceTime
After Apple this week announced its new open standard for video calling, dubbed FaceTime, major online chat providers bookmark php have expressed interest in the new standards-based technology, but do not yet have plans to adopt it in their own services.
Announced on Monday, FaceTime will allow iPhone 4 users to video chat over Wi-Fi using the cameras on Apple’s latest handset. Apple will make FaceTime an open industry standard, allowing communication with other devices and services.
It’s the open, standards-based nature of FaceTime that most interests existing Internet communications providers like Skype. But that doesn’t mean the company is already willing to embrace Apple’s creation. bookmark php
A Skype spokesperson contacted by AppleInsider on Wednesday downplayed earlier reports which suggested the voice-over-IP company would "welcome the chance to work with Apple" and planned on adopting the FaceTime standard in its own products.
"Just to be clear, we are not considering FaceTime as a technological platform for video calling in our own products," the spokesperson said. "Based on Apple’s statement about FaceTime being open platform, we are looking forward to see how this process unfolds."
The company bookmark php said it will continue to work with Apple in providing the Skype service through its own existing applications for the Mac OS X desktop and iOS devices.
Google, too, acknowledged the open nature of FaceTime when asked for comment. The search giant runs the Google Chat service, which operates in the browser for Gmail users, and is also accessible through the Google Talk desktop application for Windows only.
"Our solutions are built on top of open standards and platforms and we will continue to strive for openness in our communication platforms," a Google spokesperson said. The company declined to offer any information on future plans, or speak specifically about potential integration of FaceTime in its products.

In the wake of Monday’s iPhone 4 introduction, Apple has been the target of sharp criticism from some industry watchers and rivals looking to dispute some motorola eq5 bluetooth car speakerphone of the claims it made regarding the handset’s new Retina Display.

Adding to the controversy was global electronics maker Samsung, who joined the conversation by touting its AMOLED technology, which will be used in its recently announced Galaxy S, as superior to the newly released Retina Display. Vinita Jakhanwal, a principal analyst for the firm, similarly sided with Apple, saying that while the Nexus One “upped the ante” for handset displays with its AMOLED display, the iPhone 4 “has raised the bar even further” with its LCD-IPS Retina display.
